Construction Sante Montreal (CSM), a joint venture between OHL Canada and Laing O’Rourke selected Latista, the leader in field management solutions for construction, as their field management solution in the development of the new state-of-the-art facilities that will make up the new Centre hospitalier de I’Université de Montrél (CHUM). Currently CHUM is a merger between three existing hospitals in downtown Montréal. The construction of the new CHUM will be the largest urban integration project in Canada’s history, and to ensure a successful completion of the facility while keeping on schedule, CSM chose Latista.
The future 268,000-square-meter, world-class hospital complex will hold 772 private rooms, 26 inpatient units and 39 operating rooms as well as a new power plant, and will rely on cutting-edge technology and equipment to deliver its services. The main contractors selected for this massive project are a collective operating under the name Construction santé Montréal (CSM).
The estimated value of the facility is $1.98 billion, and the project completion is scheduled to be in 2020 over two phases. In the pilot stage, the project team will implement Latista for QA/QC, and they will continue to use Latista for commissioning in later phases of the project.
“We are pleased to be a part of the expansion of the new CHUM. This is a significant undertaking by skilled stakeholders and the facility will be a healthcare landmark for Montréal,” said Chris Ramsey, CEO of Latista. “Latista’s goal will be to give contractors and owners better control and transparency of the project for a successful facility.”
